Who doesn't love a good...

Who doesn't love a good before and after??πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

@silvergatefsg , we've got two gardens. One for our T-K and Kinder kids and one for our bigger kids.πŸ’•

Without care and kids and volunteers in the space, our Kinder Garden turned into an outright weed and overgrown crop jungle over last year while our kids were all learning from home.πŸ’»

The first photo shows what the Kinder Garden space looks like and what our new kids and their families will see on the first day of school. We've got some established trees (including tangerine, apple, peach, and banana), a passion fruit tunnel, and herbs. Other than that, we've got blank slate growing space that includes two repurposed planters (thank you, SD Master Gardeners Association, for helping us acquire these) and additional small pots, beds, and barrels for classrooms to grow!🌱

As you swipe through pics, it takes you back in time to Jan. 2021, then March 2021, when some of our amazing volunteers helped us clear out the space.πŸ’ͺ

This transformation didn't happen overnight but required a lot of consistent work over the last six months. Excited and proud, and hopefully, this will generate some excitement with new families to get involved with the program!!πŸ™Œ

I know personally, it gives me butterflies thinking of being back in the gardens with kids! They are going to need this education and space more than ever!!πŸ’š

** I'll share our bigger kids' garden transformation soon. Last year we built all new beds and are currently installing the irrigation. I'm suuuuuuper grateful for co-coordinator fab friend @rjohnski, our school, and supportive families!❀️
