In San Diego, it feels...

Go To Post     In San Diego, it feels the opposite of cool right now.🥵 But, this weekend, I harvested a LOT of my warm/hot season crops to get ready for the cooler temps that I know (and pray) are coming within the next few weeks and months.🙏 In general, your fruit-bearing crops need warm temperatures and longer days to produce those summer and fall harvested crops. That is why they are grown in the summer and spring.☀️ Now, thinking toward the cooler temps and shorter days, my thoughts are more veggie-centric. This fall is the time to plan for growing your root vegetables (radishes, carrots, beets, rutabagas, etc.), your greens (lettuce, cabbage, kale, etc.), and your immature flowers (cauliflower, broccoli, etc.). 🥦 So, if you are also getting ready for your cooler season crops, stay tuned as I share what we do to give our next season's crops the very best shot, from the get-go, possible!👍 Photos by @sibila.thisisme #growwhatyoulove #sharewhatyoulove, gardenteacher #gardeningwithkids #fallgardening #coolseasongardening #gradenlessons #urbangarden
